Day Sixteen: I've almost achieved Loopy Groupie status!

A few days back, I visited The Loopy Ewe website and ordered some sock blockers.
(Okay. All of the non-knitters have left the room. Now it's just you and me.)

This morning, Tempe, my mom, Meredith, Harper, and I visited The Loopy Room to pick up the blockers and smell some yarn.
(Before we went in, I made the girls repeat our rules--No Hurts, Stick Together, Have Fun. Meredith then asked if we're allowed to smell yarn. And smell it, she did.)

Anyway, all I can say is: The Loopy Ewe gives me yet another reason to love St. Louis.

Sheri and her staff were absolutely delightful.
Also, I got to touch Wollmeise Lace. It's not yet available, but I'm in love with it anyway (sort of like how I feel about George Clooney).

Did you just say that you wanted to see some photos? Well okay then!

Here is one of my new blockers modeling a Louet Gems Shamrock "Go With the Flow" sock.

Here is a lovely skein of Duet Sock Yarns.
The colorway is Army Guy, and the color blend is amazing. (Look at that blue popping out at you! You can't help but be mesmerized. No apology necessary.)
(The extra mini skein is for the heel and toe of the sock. Ingenious.)
Also, I shaped it to look like a pony. Or maybe it's more of an ostrich. Potato Potahto.

Here is my latest skein of Woolly Boully.
It was dyed specifically for The Loopy Ewe, and is named "Won't Ewe Come Out Tonight? (Sheri, Baby!)".
When I threw it up into the air (because I, too, am pretty good at the Spin and Toss, Mary Tyler Moore), I couldn't see it.
It blended perfectly with the sky on this beautifully brisk November it's-a-good-day-for-swilling-a-chai morning.

(Jenny Boully is a poet. I am not.)

Meredith really likes the smell of Cherry Tree Hill, by the way.
(She also likes Spongebob fruit snacks and posing for pictures.)
And as I type this, James Taylor is singing, both kids are napping, I've got some new yarn, AND I just heard that My Bloody Valentine will be releasing another album.
(Did I mention that my mom actually paid for my yarn? Something about Early Christmas!)
It really doesn't get much better than this.

I was tempted to go to the Loopy Room today, but I did not.

Glad to hear the new Loopy Room did not disappoint. Love that Woolly Boully yarn. If only I didn't have so much blue sock yarn that it has it's own container...

So what's the deal with Wollmeise yarn? Knitters are always saying how wonderful it is, but I do not know exactly why. Maybe it's better that I don't know exactly why because I got a pair of Koigu socks in Sockapalooza 4 AND 2 skeins of Koigu and now all I want to do is sit around, pet it and figure out how to get more.

Hey, thanks for that wonderful link! I'm glad you had a great time. I'm toying with the idea of those sock blockers . . .

How the H do you have time to blog AND knit?

We loved having you here today and your daughter just charmed the heck out of me by walking along and sniffing the yarn. I love that! You're obviously raising her right. :-) :-) (I'm having a Peppermint Mocha from you tomorrow. You're the best!)

That yarn shop is drool worthy. New yarn and you got it bought for. What more could one want?

Is the go with the flow pattern from the Favorite socks book? I should just go on Ravelry and check. It looks really cute in that yarn.

Kara--I can't get enough of the Woolly Boully!

KD--I wish I had a good comeback. Here. How's this: Oh, you! Go put a sticker on a picture or something! (Sorry. That was weak.)

Jenn--The colors are really deep and beautiful. I saw some red laceweight, and I was truly wowed.

Tut-tut--You need the blockers. You know you do. AND, I know for a fact that they sell out fast.

All Adither--I've got the kids locked up in the basement. (Actually, my knitting has been really slow with the NaBloPoMo thing going on!)

Sheri--She really loves sniffing Tess' Designer Yarns because of the lavender rinse! (And she really loved The Loopy Room!)

Angstmama--It IS from the Favorite Socks book. It's a very catchy pattern. I need to add this sock to my Ravelry!

    Yr fast
How long does a pair take to knit?
I am counting down the days (10) till my school of sewing arts! Amy Butler is in town and some other hookers and weavers and I am about to burst with anticiaption. Are you making all yr holiday gifts? :)

If I owned socks that pretty, I could never feel right about putting them into my stank Dankos. Come to think of it, all of my socks have been of the Fruit of the Loom variety. Sad, very sad.

That is one very pretty green sock! Well done!

Liz--Don't hate the player. Hate the game. (If you're ever in St. Louis, be sure to look me up. I'll take you on a yarn shop adventure!)

Amy--I'm really not fast at all. A pair of socks takes anywhere from 2 weeks (my fastest pair) to 2 months (those green ones pictured above). It's sometimes tricky for me to find the time to knit. (I've decided to only make one holiday gift this year--a scarf for MC's teacher.) Have fun with Amy Butler! I'd be bursting, too!

Surcie--I, too, sport FotL socks. BUT, I love those days when I can wear the handknit ones.

Sara--Thanks! (It makes me a bit sad to think that once I'm finished, I have to do another. I really need to learn how to knit two at once!)

Isn't that the best name for a yarn store?

Ooh! (or is that Ewe! oh, ugh.)

Now I have something new for my Christmas list, which is sadly short...

I swear I wanna learn to knit SOOOO BADDDDD - but I suck at it as bad as I wanna learn it. Apparently I got the black chick genes that didn't include any type of sewing or Knitting at all...

    I envy you

i am in love with that sock. my secret wish is that i was coordinated enough to knit... all that yarn looks so yummy and i'd love to be able to sniff it knowing i could make stuff out of it. though i suppose just the sniffing will have to suffice.

If I keep coming around here, I swear it's only a matter of time before I get sucked into the sock knitting. Damn, I love the color of that sock!
