Project Make a Dent
As a result of my post-holiday demeanor, which could definitely be categorized as a Funk, I've kicked off Project Make a Dent.
In the past 24 hours:
I Unsubscribed to most of those weird daily e-mails to which I don't remember ever subscribing.
I deleted my Twitter account.
I filled a 46,493 gallon trash bag with clothes that I used to wear to The Office. When was the last time I reported to an office? It was 2001. If I ever DO return to an office, I can almost guarantee that no one wants to see me waltzing around in that tired old brown Gap dress with the aubergine flowers. (By the way, I have no idea how I just came up with Aubergine. Perhaps Making a Dent has re-fired a synapse. Success!)
I ate a huge tray filled with vegetable korma. (This has nothing to do with Project Make a Dent, but it was awfully good.)
(Incidentally, everything I've eaten so far today fits in perfectly with the Weight Watchers Core Plan. My Friday intake was definitely not intended to be part of Project Make a Dent, but if the shoe fits, I shall wear it.)
Speaking of shoes (or socks) that fit, I'm once again working on my Radioactive Sex Monkeys. AND, I've switched them over from double pointed needles to circular needles. Because along with needing to make a dent, I need to feel a challenge.
Also, I need a weekend. And because this is Friday, my plan is coming together perfectly.
May yours be enjoyable, too.

at 1/11/2008 3:49:32 PM- I'm sure I've mentioned this. But I am really jealous of your sock knitting skills. I've requested a book from my mother on how to knit socks. Hopefully she'll deliver.

at 1/11/2008 5:54:48 PM- I need to follow your lead. I'm getting to where I just want to hop online to check my blog reader and Ravelry, then be done with the computer (except for work). Especially since the computer can be such a major time-suck for me, which leads to less knitting time.
By the way - awesome socks! Are you loving the circulars? I wouldn't trade my addis for anything. I use them for all my socks. Love them!

Also, I too will miss your Twittings.

at 1/12/2008 11:32:33 AM- A Core-friendly Korma!!!!???? Please share recipe!
Doing great on my first time at Core, instead of flex, but I've never eaten so little bread and so much freak-a*s grain product. I'm now lying to my sons: "it's a new kind of rice!"
Can you recommend any pre-packaged core-friendly frozen foods?

at 1/12/2008 11:46:46 AM- Dooley--Unfortunately, the korma isn't Core-friendly. BUT, I allow myself to go nuts on Thursday nights. (My weigh-in is at 6:00, meaning I can screw around until midnight.)
As far as frozen foods go, I don't know of any. BUT, I AM loving the Core-friendly Progresso soups! Shoot an e-mail my way if you want a list!

at 1/14/2008 8:52:04 PM- New here, and I don't knit, so I can't really comment on the socks, except to say they look good and extremely difficult.
I've been "denting" too lately. Cleaned my linen closet. Took some old cookware to the consignment store - had to make room for new cookware. Been doing laundry, but can't see the dent there yet.
Like your blog so far...
