This is a very exciting day in the Pudding house!
I know you've already seen it.
AND, I would never tell you who to vote for.
But I WILL tell you to vote.
Because you really should.
It won't take long, and then you can treat yourself to a coffee or cheese fries afterward.
Also, give yourself a "It really DOES count" high five for me.
(This morning we asked Meredith who she was voting for. Her answer? Rocko Mama.)
((Oh! And you might really despise the video! HATE IT! ARGH! And GGggrrrr! Those blasted celebrities and their @&%*$^& opinions! Just please remember: I think you're so pretty.))

at 2/5/2008 10:04:08 AM- We are taking All My Children to vote. It's going to be a huge pain in the tushkie but it's worth a bit of discomfort and a lot of breakdowns! I love the idea of rewarding the effort with cheese fries.

at 2/5/2008 10:28:05 AM- Kansas decided (in its infinite wisdom) to Caucus rather than Primary this year (I am a clever verb-maker). Which means we will stand in line and be counted rather than wield a pencil and be counted.
But we WILL be counted.
YES WE CAN.

at 2/5/2008 10:59:16 AM- addicted. I am addicted to this video, yesterday I sent it to everyone I know...INCLUDING those involved in the weirdest IPod inscription ever. That's how much I love it.

at 2/5/2008 11:21:10 AM- I'm so disconnected from the world, I hadn't seen that video before. And so I'm crying right now, that's just beautiful. The kids and I are going to polls together today, and my son said he wouldn't wear a tee-shirt that said "My mom and dad voted for ----- and you should, too" because that would be rude and could possibly get him into trouble. But he is not opposed to calling people we know and grilling them about who they are voting for today, he just doesn't want to offend strangers.

at 2/5/2008 12:36:12 PM- Paul took the 4-year-old with him this morning, and voted for Barack (despite the video). I took the 1-year-old an hour later, and voted for Hillary (not really because of the video).
It's a good video, and I'm quite fine with celebrities having opinions. I just don't like will.i.am because of The Black-Eyed Peas' crappy-offensive song, "Let's Get Retarded." Jackasses.

at 2/5/2008 1:31:49 PM- I don't get to vote until NEXT Tuesday. Not-so-SUPER Tuesday. :-\
I'm still not completely decided, but I will say, in an era where it always seems to be the choice between the lesser of two evils, there is something to be said for a candidate that actually inspires people and gives them hope that maybe, MAYBE we CAN repair the damage that's been done and return to the version of America we can all believe in.
I think the importance of that inspiration is being undervalued in this election, but perhaps, it's exactly what we need.

at 2/5/2008 5:09:50 PM- I completely adore this video. Posted it today, too in fact. It's shiver inducing.
I can't vote 'til May either, but I'm rockin' the vote-watch today!

at 2/5/2008 6:23:13 PM- I think you're so pretty, too! Which reminds me of what Seinfeld thinks you should say instead of "bless you" after a sneeze: "You are soooooooooo good looking!"
And. Of course I voted. For Obama. Before work this morning.

at 2/5/2008 9:46:21 PM- I could just kiss you! My other fav STL blogger really let me down today. I love this video, not bcs of the celebrities, but because of his words and the singing. I went to Obama's website and listened to the that speech and several others. I am moved by him and have been before this video. I have hope now. Yes We Can!

at 2/5/2008 10:09:42 PM- I voted at 6 am. I was undecided until the very last second (I am in no way exaggerating), and, oh, this video stirs my soul and confirms the decision I did make. Yes we can!

at 2/5/2008 10:31:34 PM- Continuing our discussion about voting today, and telling him that the race was down to fewer people, Owen asked what happened to Rudy Guliani. How can a four year old remember a name like that? I was happy to tell him that not enough people voted for him.
Anyway, Yes, we can, and yes I did. Lets let those results start rolling in...

at 2/6/2008 1:45:34 AM- We didn't get to vote today. We will be having our Democratic caucus on Saturday; freaking Washington. What's with the Northwest having to go our own way?
Anyway, we love the video, we had never seen it until this day. We also have been living under a rock, apparently.
Still undecided on which side of the gym to stand in, I guess we'll figure that out on Saturday.
And I think you're pretty, too.

at 2/9/2008 2:39:21 PM- I had heard about that but hadn't seen it. Wow. That was really great.
I went to the caucus on Tuesday. (I just can't say caucused - it's not VERB is it?) It was very inspirational and I didn't decide who I was going to go for until I was driving there. I'm so glad I did.

I'm embarrassed to say I lost my voter card. They know me and I have at least two forms of ID, so I hope that's enough.
Last presidential election, no one provided me with the pencil for my "write-in vote," as my candidate of choice was not on the ballet, at least not here. My initial candidate for this primary dropped out, so I'm undecided, yet again.
